PHYSICIANS

Debra H. Clapp, MD, FACOG
Before she started elementary school, Dr. Clapp announced her plans to become a doctor to her parents. While the exact field of medicine changed as she progressed through high school, the University of Virginia, and Duke Medical School, she always knew she would be a doctor preferably in a surgical field. She chose Obstetrics and Gynecology during her clinical rotation on labor and delivery and has never had any doubt she made the right decision. She completed her residency at the Ohio University Hospital in 1985 and became a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1987 after completing the requirements for board certification. She has enjoyed practicing medicine in Roanoke, Virginia, since 1985 and has received the award for the Top Doctor in the Roanoker Magazine several times.

She met her husband on the second day of class at Duke Medical School. After they moved to Roanoke they were blessed with a daughter and a son. They live on a small farm that is home to many dogs and horses. When Dr. Clapp is not tending to patients, she enjoys her family, riding horses, traveling and reading.
